After placing 9th in the 5,000m at the 2007 USA Outdoor Championships, Dobson bounced back with a third place finish at the 2008 Olympic Trials and a spot on the Team USA roster for the Games in Beijing. Dobson qualified for his first-ever Team USA World Championships roster with his runner-up finish in the 5,000m at the 2005 USA Outdoor Championships in Carson, Calif., where he established a new personal time of 13:15.33. A nine-time All-American while at Stanford, Dobson was the runner-up in the 5,000 meters at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships finishing behind Cardinal teammate Ryan Hall. In 2004, Dobson set a school record in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:32.09 at the Payton Jordan U.S. Open. That year he was the runner-up in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the Pac-10 and NCAA West Regional Championships…enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Klamath Union High School ...Finished second in the state in the 1500 and 3000 meters ...
